Wall Ball is a top new GAA initiative aimed at developing the skills of hurling in a fun and exciting way. It’s simple, all you need is a hurl, a ball and a wall.

It’s a great way to become more skillful at the game and is perfect for practising all kinds of striking, catching, hand-passing as well as developing your left and right sides. It’s brilliant for ball control as you will have lots of ball contact as it comes off the walls. Goals could be painted on the walls to help with target practise and if your local alley has lights, even better, you can train all year round.

Different types of ball can also be used. Younger players can use a First Touch sliotar, and as players develop, try smaller balls such as the Quick or Smart Touch sliotars. For more older players, quicker balls such as a racket ball can be used.

So why not drive your Coach or Teacher up the wall and ask them to get Wall Ball training sessions started at an alley near you. We love Wall Ball and we think it’s going to be a big hit!
