The GAA have come up with a cool new way for kids to learn the skills of
Gaelic games which will mean more fun for you when playing Gaelic Football
and Hurling.
It’s called the GAA Fun Do Programme and has been devised to ensure that
all players derive a sense of achievement, fun and fair play from taking part in
Gaelic games. Everything to do with the GAA Fun Do Programme is contained
in a totally cool Fun Do Learning Resource Pack, jam-packed with loads of
booklets, DVDs and DVD-ROMs full of skills and drills. The pack will help
Coaches, Teachers and Parents to set up these cool games, activities and
exercises in your local club or school and make the GAA more fun for you and
your mates. Ask your Coach, Teacher or Parents about it and make sure they
get a pack.
GAA Fun Do Programme has loads of different games and activities. The ABC
and Have a Ball Nursery Programmes have cool activities to develop movement and ball skills for 4-8 year olds. Go Games are brilliant small-sided games in
both Hurling and Gaelic Football for kids of all ages and with Wall Ball, you
can practise your hurling skills in an alley. Coaching Classes has a range of
activities that can be used to practise and develop the skills of Gaelic Football
and Hurling, aimed at players aged 7-12. When you are good at the skills you
can test yourself with the U Can Awards and the Skill Star Challenges.
