When Kerry’s Jack O’Connor sits down to pick his starting fifteen, we bet that there is one player at the top of his list, it’s gotta be Tomás Ó Sé.The An Ghaeltacht superstar is the most complete footballer around at the moment, whether
defending on the half-back line or pushing forward up the field, he never seems to have a bad game.

He was voted “Footballer of the Year” in 2004 for his outstanding performances for The Kingdom, as they marched to their 33rd All-Ireland title, and he has carried that form into 2005 with great displays against Cork in the Munster final and the All-Ireland semi-final and against Mayo at the quarter-final stage.

The Kerry star, who has represented his county at all age levels, will stop at nothing to add to his two All-Ireland Senior medals won in 2000 and 2004. He hopes to among those elite players who have won back-to-back All-Ireland titles.

What has been your greatest moment in sport?
When I first played for the Kerry Senior team in 1998, that was a fantastic thrill.

Which is the toughest team you have faced?
Dr. Crokes from Killarney are always tough?

Who was your toughest ever opponent?
The Gooch.

How do you balance your job and football?
I’m a teacher so it’s not so bad. I can relax a bit after work before I go to training.
And as the Championship season progresses I would be on holidays.

Which player do you admire the most?
There are three players that I really admire; Seamus Moynihan, Stephen O’Brien and my brother Darragh.

Who was your childhood sporting hero?
Roy Keane.

What club do you play for and who are your biggest rivals?
I play for An Ghaeltacht and our biggest club rivals would definitely be Dr. Crokes.

Do you play any other sports?
Golf and Swimming.

What advice would you give to young players?
Practice the skills and always listen to your coaches.

What are your hopes for the future?
This year I would love to win the All-Ireland and make it back-to back titles. But in general, to keep my focus on the game that I love and to play to my personal best.
