Tipperary captain Una O’Dwyer is gunning for her fourth All-Ireland medal. It has added significance for her as injury ruled her out of the Munster championship success earlier this year.

Also revenge is in the air as she was on the losing side to her archrivals, and former flat mates, from Cork. The most renowned full-back in the country has been playing for Tipperary for seven seasons and also captained the UCC team to Ashbourne Cup success this year.

What advice would you give to young players?
Keep training. Try to build up your con-centration and always listen to your mentors.

What is your greatest Camogie memory?
Completing the three in a row All-Ireland success from 1999 to 2001 was
just amazing.

Who has been your toughest opponent?
Without doubt my fellow Tipperary team-mate Deirdre Hughes of Toomevara.

Who was your childhood hero?
The great Nicky English.

Do you play any other sports?

None. I never play anything else as camogie takes up so much of my time.

Is it difficult to balance your studies and camogie?
Not really. When you’re in a big university like UCC it is such a big part of college life. If you are involved and committed, you make time!
